All these are from new clothes I've worn in the last week.   Don't think I'm gloating. I feel cursed by all this weight loss. Nothing fits well. I bought a couple of staples to get me thru til spring arrives.

I feel comfortable in my big clothes, but I don't feel comfortable. Got it.

When I look in the mirror, I don't see someone who has lost weight.

But I can see it in clothes, I see it in my face, but I feel like the same person.

Does this make sense.

I wish someone aka hubs would say more affirming things. Compliments go

I don't know if because I'm around him everyday does he not see it?

This shall be an interesting dinner converation.

Selfless

Today,  was filled with many selfless acts.
I used a precious vacation day, to watch carpet be layed at my grandma's house. One step closer to being done.

Wallpaper circa 1970's wish I had the heart to wallpaper over, but it's just a symbol of grandmas basement. I did paint the molding light brown, it was royal blue before.

I helped my husband by dropping some bid packets off at potential customers.

Also went to the post office for him, and picked up one of the work trucks from the Collison shop.

At  noon today, I get a call from church.

We have your husbands cell phone!

I was puzzled but said I'd be right up to get it. Arrive at the office, as I thought, not my husbands. It's my father in law's. So while at the office I call their house and they don't answer, so I said to the Secretary, that I would take it and get to him.  He lives and dies for/by this phone.

If I had enough courage, I could have snagged Dr Hilgers cell phone #, but I was good and resisted the temptation.

My mother in law, comes to my grandma's house to retrieve the phone. We chat. So she tells me first that she's still really mad for taking David.  She says that's why I've been going to church everday  "still talking to God, just mad at him" . A priest she's been talking to, says she might get some of her anger out by going to the cemetery; he told her it's a great place to talk it out with him.  He said get mad & talk to him at the cemetery.  She said she wants to go before Easter.  I said if u need , me to go, let me know. I reminded her that David is in the back and Andrew in the front. There are clear indentations in the grass where each one is.

So since she was kinds vulnerable and in a talkative mood, I let her know that hubs, was disappointed specifically that his godfather ( her brother) --very prolife, leader hasn't acknowledged David.  No call, no email, no card, nothing! She had  no excuse. She had no idea. I said mr. Lucky is very hurt by it. I said we drove 11 hours for his birthday last year, we acknowledge his grandchildren,  one just a week ago. She asked if I knew that this uncle/godfather also lost a child at 7 months to stillbirth. I said no. I said at the very least he should know what Mr. Lucky is going thru and say or do something to support him.

Back to my grandma's at dinner time to walk out all the bubbles in the carpet.  ( it's glued down on the basement floor, so it had some bubbles, til it all adheres )

As I was leaving my grandmothers...

I saw a post come from my hubs about vividly remembering where he was 9 weeks ago today.
Then I get the message from my sister in law, that on this the feast of the annunciation she is happy to announce that they are expecting #9.

Huge blow. I just break down and cry.

I'm having a huge Why? Moment. The timing of her due date, puts here at conceiving right around the time we lost. Why does God do things to us like this. Why did he chose them and not us. Does he think she's a better mother, does he hate us for some reason.  Just things I won't understand.
I haven't responded yet. This is another one of those strings of group texts that I despise!!
All the while, yesterday, hubs and I have been pondering , him more than me, writing a letter to family. Kind of along the lines of the " I said yes" blog post that has been floating around. Explaining our 9 years of marriage and all the times we have been selfless instead of selfish. All the   struggles, and heart ache. Also to give them advice on how to approach announcements like this, we knew it would eventually happen.  His sisters mate like rabbits ( no holds barred) sorry a little bitter here tonight. We will probably still do it, but now it will sound like we are bitter if we send it now.
The only thing more I will say about my sister in law. I think it is very careless,  to bring another soul, when you have 8, when your husband is out of work, when you don't work , when you are constantly asking for help from your parents. You will vacation  to the family cottage, with out spending a dime or lifting  a finger. We however, will feel guilty again and end up contributing our share, plus additional, because we are viewed as the selfish ones, because we don't have 10 mouths to feed.   Rant done ( for now)  no Intibitions courtesy of.......

Hiccups

I am 2 chapters into Dr. Jason Collins MD book, "Silent Risk"

So many things he's discovered in his  Research . about umbilical cord accidents ( UCA )

Besides all the medical lingo  I am learning with. Dr. Collins talks about hiccups.. They sound harmless and cute right.. If happening often they are actually a sign that your  baby is in distress, most commonly by a compressed cord . From what I'm reading, a baby will exhibit hyper activity before their demise; I read into it-- to try & alert the mom; trying to wiggle out of their situation or uncompress their cord.

I haven't dug into why most doctors, don't see hiccups as a warning sign..

More than once David had hiccups in our biweekly NST's -- because I had an anterior placenta, I never felt them. So I have to say, without NST's I wouldn't have know that they probably played into our demise. I will never know how often I had them at home, while not being monitored, because of the "stupid" anterior placenta.  The nurses always said hiccups are "cute"  I wish I could buy this book for them all. I don't know that it would make them believe that something is wrong..

More to come; as I read the book.

In my opinion Dr. Collins.. is the Dr. Hilgers of the Umbilical Cord world.. main stream doctors, don't necessarily "accept" their research/work easily.  Dr. Collins has devoted the last 25 years of his life to the research of umbilical cord accidents. Dr. Collins believes that over 50% of stillbirth cord accidents can be avoided by closer ( daily ) monitoring. Hiccups are just one of the many signs he looks at. Hiccups, heart rate ( by monitoring daily, he gets a better idea of a pattern ) He also has learned that most fetal demise happens between 2am-4am when the mother is sleeping.

My better explanation of Dr. Collins ( Dr. Hilgers comparison ) because I know many of you know Dr. Hilgers..  ... So Dr. Hilgers would not accept the pill or pain meds as an "answer" to endometriosis. Dr. Collins, does not accept that cord accidents can't be treated; he believes closer monitoring in the 3rd trimester is essential for those in risk categories. He promotes daily monitoring vs. the ACOG accepted biweekly monitoring.

P.S. I'm not writing about this stuff to scare anyone.. I am not a doctor.. so please don't interpret this as doctors advice.. but .. the more you are informed, the more you can talk with your doctor.   again, this is just my laywoman's interpretations of this book.

This stuff interests me because we've lost 4 sons unexplained by the medical world.  A phrase our birth instructor always used: Informed decision making.  Most doctors in a birth situation will respect your wishes if you come in with an informed reasoning.  Maybe I'm filling my head with too much information at this juncture.. but I'll do it till it explodes.

Kick Counts for pregnancy.

READ this closely...

Kicks COUNT.

So Count your KICKS.

Wish I had read more into this, when I was pregnant.  Doctors kinda just assume that you know what kick counts are...   So if your doctor says count your kicks, ask Doctor, what should I look for !

So most people should start counting their babies movement ( kicks ) in the 3rd trimester.  Was never mentioned to me til I was 35 weeks.. at that it was just kind of a final thought, but no deep explanation of what to do.

Most healthy babies should take less than 2 hours for 10 kicks. Every baby is different. Keeping track of your daily kick counting sessions will help you know what is "normal" for your baby. Notify your provider immediately if your baby has not moved 10 times in 2 hours or there have been significant changes

Here are some helpful  tips when you question, are you being over protective or a worry wart.
When Should I call my provider ?

False  information -- ( which I fell victim of )  --Do babies kick less near the end of pregnancy

NO !!
Toward the end of pregnancy the baby may move differently. You may feel less kicking and more rolling. However, if you are monitoring the baby’s movements at the same time each day, it should take about the same amount of time to feel 10 movements. Call your doctor if you notice a significant change in your baby’s movement patterns or if you do not feel 10 movements in 2 hours.

Trust your instincts, if something doesn't feel right, get yourself into the hospital IMMEDIATELY.
Don't wait till the morning, or till your next appointment.

For more information on Count the Kicks click the link.  They have downloadable charts, they have an app, make sure everyone you know entering the 3rd trimester knows this!!

New License Plate

Would you purchase a Right to Life License plate.

our state is trying to get one

Right To Life Plate

Prayers for elected leaders

Today, the elected leaders in our state will be voting whether to allow Adoption Agencies to operate and withhold their faith beliefs.

Basically a vote to allow agencies to choose whether to refuse service to unmarried or same sex couples.

The article in whole  on Faith Based Adoption Agencies

I pray this day for this & for those seeking adoptions and waiting for a child.

Late Day update; bill passes  allowing each agency to operate within their moral beliefs.

Had this not passed, it would have forced many faith based organizations to close.
