Frogs.

So on my second vacation, we are surrounded by Native American land, and all the gift shops sell their wares.  One shop, was unique in it explained all the different gifts. When I stumbled upon their meaning for the frog I was shocked.  So now that I have a second to breathe I started looking them up a little more.

Frogs were also worshipped in the Americas. In many areas in ancient times the patron goddess of fertility and childbirth was a frog or a toad. Again they were associated with the rains. One Peruvian tribe placed statuettes of frogs on hilltops to call down the rain. To the early Aztecs the great mother goddess was a toad. In representations she often appears in a squatting position, giving birth to the world.

Now a priest who I used to work for, always gave couples at their weddiing a frog, that he instructed them to be prominently placed in their kitchen, so they both could see it everyday.

I'm going to look for a frog very sooon !!

Can I ask of the blog-o-sphere, some prayers for those with mental illness & chemical dependencies.

reason 1)
Some demons have resurfaced with my BIL & he is not dealing with his issues in an appropriate manner. My sweet nephews are fine, but geez, dude.. you have been soo out of it you have missed the better part of your 8 month old sons life. Your 2 1/2 year old acts more grown up then you.

reason 2)
My SIL's ex ( recently divorced ) hung himself. He was recently jailed & was facing a few years for what he had done(paper crime)   Again not being able to deal with being mature & taking responsibilities for his actions landed him where he was.  He leaves behind my sweet, 5 year old niece.  I found out during my hiatus between vacations. The weird thing was, I had a very vivid dream about him. I abruptly woke up from a very sound sleep about 2 in the morning. We found out shorly after my dream at 8am that this happened.  I pray I am not his "medium" because 2 other times when he did stupid things during their divorce, I had "unusual" dreams about him. Which turned out to be "things" that he did.

Anyone every had dreams that turn out to be actual occurances?

Back home !! Sleeping in my own bed tonight, but headed back to work tomorrow( not by choice )

I will post pictures soon & vacation stories..  The sad part is, I want to know when I can leave again. If anyone is hiring for a professional vacationer, let me know where I can send my resume.

I'm not caught up on all my bloggging.. I've had no internet access for the last 10 days. Yes I  am probably one of the last people with out one of those "dumb" phones. but with roaming costing$ 2.40 a minute I didn't need to be in the know that bad.

Pictures , stories, etc, this weekend.. I promise.

Crazy busy !

I have a list a mile long of things I have to get done before I leave on  V A C A T I O N !!!
I haven't seen that word in a long time. I have the normal things like pack, print tickets, maps, pick up those couple of odds & ends.. but I have a lot of things to complete for hubs before I go. He is staying home for this trip. ( makes me sad to leave him home ) but his business needs to be tended to. I am flying with my mom & middle sister & my sweet nephews 2 yrs  & 8 mos.  We are visiting my baby sister on the East Coast.

But the real fun begins when I get home from being gone for 8 days. ( and a late flight in ). I go to work for 3 days. and leave on day 3 right after work to go with hubs, his sister, and 2 nephews to his families cottage in Canada. I need to have all this packing primarily done before I leave for 1st vacation. I also have to have my SUV cleaned, checked out & ready for the road trip.

So if you don't hear from me for a while, this is the reason. in Canada I will not have internet.
& while on the East coast if my token for my wireless doesn't arrive soon.

My new sunglasses arrived today. & I have my bathing suit packed, so as long as I got those two. I'm golden,  anything  else that makes it in the suitcase is a bonus.

Blog Blitz for a Future Dominican!

There is a young woman named Amanda who is about to enter religious life and could use our prayers and if anyone is able, our financial support.  She has a donate button on her blog.  Please read this excerpt from an email from this young woman's friend:

Amanda will be entering the convent with the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist (a young, vibrant, habited order in Ann Arbor, MI) in 3 weeks... but in order to do so, she needs to kill off the end of her student loan debt! 

 Amanda is amazing, and has been able to get her student loan debt down to just $2,500 or so at last count... but she only has 3 weeks now to kill off the rest. Not only does she have to sell off and give away pretty much everything except for a few personal items, but also she will not be allowed to enter with ANY debt at all. This is especially hard, since she just found out she'd been accepted at the end of June!

She has been so responsible with money thus far in her life, going to school where she had a full ride, living with her grandmother after her grandfather passed away, working at a job she hates in order to support herself and help her grandmother, and not depending on any credit cards, but she still has some room & board student loans hanging around that, if she was working, she'd finish off in a year, but, you know, when you enter an order you're not "working", you're praying for the rest of us!

So.....Can I ask you to blog about her and share her site?  If we can get a couple of blogs to share her story and her need, I know we could help her.  Even if we just storm Heaven on her behalf I know God will meet the financial need. 

So, I am asking you all to blog for dear Amanda before the week is done.  Share her site on FB or Twitter and let's support and encourage this young woman as she prepares to enter the religious life!

Which Dr. is correct

So I've seen 4 different doctors for my IF issues.
1st doctor.. highly respected obgyn, poor bedside manners; told me lose weight you'll get pregnant .
2nd doctor. super nice, respected prolife obgyn. told me lose weight! & do you like adoption.
3rd doctor.. na.pro doc.. so-so bedside manners. told me you're overweight ( never told me to lose any) tells me if u are not pregnant in 3 months we'll do surgery.. I am not so keen on that route.
4th doctor. my family doc. who I have known since i was 16.  She has always been there thru the ups & downs & lifes tribulations.  She actually calls me her poster child for weight loss right now.. I am very close to my " ideal " weight on the charts.  She keeps telling me that everyones combination for having a child is different.. just cuz doc 1 & 2 made it solely sound like it was a weight issue could be dead wrong. I so would love to go back to 1 & 2 & say the weight is off.. so what NOW!  I think I might just actually have seen some CM for like the first time since I was married!    I am still confused what the "right" combination is. Oh well we'll keep trying.
