What would you do?

Kinda like the TV show.  What would you do?

Would you inform a local Right to Life center, that their landlord, also rents to Planned Parenthood.

They are not in the same complex, but in the same city. I would have to assume, they(RTL) don't know, that their landlord leases to PP. The landlord is a small management company, around 15 office buildings, concentrated mostly in the same city. If you knew  would you rent from this landlord? Said landlord, likes to hide (not disclose) this PP property.
Yes we do work for said landlord, well past tense, we cancelled this account, for non payment, also for hiding the PP property.  Said landlord has made each building it's own company (not uncommon), and employees are another company, who work for a 3rd management company(landlord), who pay the owners ( who are not directly involved, with the day to day operations).  The owners are a very prominent Catholic Family, we didn't know this going into the contract, but after not paying, I do a lot of research. To be honest, not sure this Catholic Family knows they have a PP in one of their properties, that's how removed they are.

So back to the TV Show, What would you do?
Would you write the RTL office and let them in on the secret?

7 QT

Been super busy, so this is the quick way to get a post done.

1)  I'm done with January & it's snowy weather!
2) Prediction - Groundhog will not see  his shadow. 6 more weeks of Winter. Sorry, don't blame the messenger.
3) Took my SUV to the dealership, let me preface, that my vehicle is just out of warranty, and I've had my vehicle in for the same issue 2 times prior & it's not been fixed. After a few discussions, they agreed to pay 75% of my repair.. amazing, now they can figure out the problem, when I have to pay for it. Noted on the receipt, : Good Will Credit for Customer ENTHUSIASM.  ?? I'm guessing Enthusiasm must be code for something not so nice. Cuz I definitely wasn't enthusiastic.
4) Still a Roaming Roman.. Our church closed 2 weeks ago, haven't found "the right" parish yet.
5) One of the nightmares I've been dealing with lately, came to a big hault today.
6) WOW Super Bowl, is around the corner. I'm in it for the food & commercials. Being Honest!
7) Going to be another big Accounting(ish) weekend. I'm not really an accountant, but so many people think I am. Getting prepared to head to the tax preparer soon.

Randoms

Still very overwhelmed with everything, but trying to learn how to manage my stress better!

So in our area we have had 31.5 inches of snow so far this month. It surpasses the previous record from 1978, which was 29.6 inches. This does not count all the snow we got this weekend . Have I mentioned it's been 25 nights of my husband out working . I spent 15 hours this weekend working on someone else's accounting nightmare! Haven't started on our taxes, the business taxes, or the non-profits .

We are expecting record low temps again-10 to -20 . My SUV is at the dealer, I am borrowing my grandmas car , not excited to drive rear wheel drive in the snow! Praying it starts in the morning, as it's not accustomed to being outside, especially In this cold.

The big meeting plans are coming along, but will involve a Lot of work the upcoming weeks! & dealing with the big bosses is not my favorite thing to deal with!

Yes I wear one of those redic hats, cuz it's super warm!!

20 Days

Jan 1 - Jan 20 are days.. I'd like to not repeat. This year has been to a bad and ugly start. So if we can do a refresh, I'd like to start day 21 with a fresh attitude , fresh mind, fresh heart.

One of the ladies at work is back, the other is back (working from home), the co-worker who is really sick, won't be back for a while. She loved, that I made her homemade food & took it to her last weekend.. she said most thoughtful thing anyone has done for her. I wish I lived closer, that I could do it everyday.. or every couple of days, cuz having something homecooked, makes someone feel comfy & get better. I need to figure out something I can do long distance, cuz she is getting super depressed (not able to leave the house) the weather here is going to get terribly cold again.. below zero daytime highs. More Polar Vortex temps. She can't breathe well, so the cold just makes it worse.

The new stressor! I realize we have to take care of our older generations.. but I have 2 above me to take care of.. My grandma is in her middle 80's. My husband & I take care of most all little things around her house ( well big things too ) so every time it snows, I go over & shovel, cut her lawn, etc. Now my uncle & my mom are becoming more needy at their ages. So apparently being the oldest, is not all peaches and roses. So now I have to become the guardian(for lack of better words) for my uncle. Well make sure his bills get paid, he can take care of himself, he's just kinda like crazy uncle si from D.Dynasty..

Oh yeah, that big meeting, the planning is getting ramped up this week too..

I'm just thinking of warm sandy beaches to relax my mind.

Whopper blow 2014

So I ran a little name the storm, thingy on FB ( for the business) my subject is the best of all the entries . So far we have about 9 inches , but it hasn't stopped snowing coming down at 1 inch an hour, and they say it's going to snow for 4 more hours. Yowza!! Here's some pics taken from the warm confines of my house.

Spent my afternoon

Spent the afternoon doing this!

Shoes always make

IShoes Always make things better in my book.

I have been trying to hunt down a warm pair of winter boots since this winter has been so brutal. 5 stores, I visited last weekend and no "warm" winter boots were found.  So I trekked to the mall today, it's snowing again & going to be bitter cold, to check one last store. Wasn't feeling hopeful when all I saw was sandals. So I went to the reduced room. Saw nothing boot wise. But I found these lovelies

So when the only pair left was in my size I was geeked! So I sat down & tried them on, the super nice sales lady said, wow what a great deal, they were originally 90 down to 18. Then she said so what did you really come in for, I said I was looking for a pair of sorels. She said there were a couple in my size, I said I didn't see them, we'll one lady had all of them in her arms! So she went & got me the other boot from the back room! So now it was either duke it out, beat her up or nicely ask if she "really" wanted ALL the boots in her arms. She was kind enough to say she didn't like them I said good sold!

I have already got use out of them! I spent the afternoon hauling wood from the backyard to the house for the cold weeks ahead!

Oh yeah the yellow shoes make me feel like I'm in the tropics.

It's Pie time again.

It's getting to the annual Pie Contest time of year for me.

2 years ago I won. Here's the Picture/Post about it.

So this will be the 4th year of the contest.

Year 1, I made a Apple pie, I lost out points, because the pie had a crash on the way in to the venue.
Year 2, I made mixed berry Pie Pops. ( picture post above)
Year 3, I made pumpkin pie.  (I'll admit my crust wasn't so good )
Mind you everything must be from scratch, no boxes, no cans, just real wholesome ingredients.

So for Year 4,   ????????????????

I'm thinking upside down apple pie ( the upside down, is pecans in a carmelly sauce )

The pie gets judged on  Presentation, crust, flavor, and overall taste.

What is your favorite PIE ?

My tips for the best crust find a recipe that uses real lard, and vinegar.

Not doing well.

I am anxiety ridden.

Work!!

TTC ( or lack thereof)

Family drama!!

I am ready for a break, I thought I was going to get one. I was soo looking forward to a business trip to Florida. Found out this week, I won't get to go, but I have to do all the planning for everyone else going.  I am doing triple duty at work. Co-worker 1 got out of the hospital, can't return for 90 days, so I'll be doing most all her work, which includes, planning 3 different meetings/shows, one of which is HUGE. 5-day event, where all our employees gather.  Did I mention it's in 10 weeks. Yep somehow got to pull that out of a magic hat soon.  Co-worker #2 's elderly mom is not doing well, she lives 4 hours from here, she had to leave unexpectedly, she won't be back for another 2 weeks. Co-worker #3, who could help with #1's work, she's out too, her husband had back surgery, so she had to take a few days vacation to be with him & will be working from hoome for the next couple of weeks, to help him with dr. appt & his recovery.

This week was my peak day.. Well it didn't get to get used, because of stupid snow storms. I've had it up to my eyeballs in snow this year.. and we are only 45 days into it. Have I mentioned my husband & I have only been in the bed at the same time like 3 nights in the last 25 days.. Crazy snow, crazy weather. We tried to go out tonight.. 1) to find some warm winter boots. I want to try them on, to find out really what size I need. Well needless to say, there are more bathing suits in the stores here than boots. Very annoying, apparetnly retail stores, are not intuned with our weather here. I've been to 4 stores & nothing resembling warm winter boots are left (sold out ) 2) go to dinner, amazing concept, we walked into a favorite place only to find it was a lot of other peoples favorite place tonight, with a 2 hour wait.. so that didn't happen. Leftovers again. I was bummed, cuz I had got lunch out this afternoon & the place totally botched my order, to the point, I couldn't eat it. So I was looking forward to a nice meal.

I fell today, flat on my back !! ICE has been horrible the last 2 days. The daytime temps have been getting warm enough to melt some of the 36" we have on the ground, so they melt & leave black ice & I hit one this morning, getting out of my SUV and almost slid under my car, I landed on my elbow.. Hurts really bad, but still moves. I iced it & took some motrin. knowing that I can't be prenant is good for the time being. Cuz tylenol would not cut this pain.

The moose drama continues.

I'm taking one day at a time here, but now am not sure, if TTC this next cycle is a good thing.. I feel my bodies cleared up & I don't want it to revert to it's old ways, but I know that the next 2-3 months are going to be super busy & if it's good for me to go thru that.. Decisions, Decisions..

well

So a friend at work has been in the hospital for 9 days. She is getting out tonight, but has a long road to recovery. She was sent flowers while she was in the hospital, by several people. She's going to be out for a month or 2 , work bought her a nice gift ( I- pad ) I am going to deliver it tomorrow after work.  Does anyone have any suggestions of something small I can bring her. To take her mind off the Picc line she will have in for the next month, she's like my work mom. She won't be able to do any work while at home, so someone not used to watching TV all day, is going to be bored!!  She's not a faith type person, but if you could say a prayer for her I would appreciate it.. She has some severe infections, that she is fighting.. Having been down that road, earlier with my birth of Andrew, I can kinda relate, I'm just glad, mine never got as bad as hers has.

So my thoughts/ideas for small gifts

I-tunes gift card
magazines
making her a breakfast casserole, that she can heat up for breakfast ( we go to breakfast everyday)

Wasn't meant to happen today.

I don't think it was meant to happen, well, at least not today.

I accidentally fell into F.acebook today, and I thought I can be a big girl.

When I say I fell into it, I was asked by my husband to write something on our business FB page. I am the admin, so is he, but instead of hacking his account, to write it, since i've been away from FB, I accidentally typed my name/password..& bingo/bango. I'm back in just like that. So since it's been a few weeks, I thought I would peruse the FB land. I was dying to know what's been going on in the St. Gerard IF group. It killz me to no end to be away from it & not have that valuable resource, sounding board, etc. , because some most days, those are the peeps who keep me sain! I was hoping there would be some big announcement by someone in the group, since we novena'd up a storm in December. Ok, the group was the least of my worries.

deleted for privacy.

I've realized with mooses, they say it's about Christmas, but really to them it's about one-uping each other on gifts, especially to the parents. I'm really sick of playing the childhood games, and don't choose to participate in that stuff anymore.

Getting Even Colder

So apparently Mother Nature is getting cruel revenge on us this winter.

We are expecting cold temps from the Polar Vortex .

What you've never heard of it , me neither. Was interesting to read about, not so interesting is the temps coming.. Ugghh..

Cheers to warmer weather even if it is 4 months away.

Brrr

Baby it's cold outside !!
Wind chill is -20

2013 Post link up.

  • Linking up with Sarah for a recap on Posts from 2013

  • So here's the posts for 2013 that fit the bill for the link up. I had a good time reading thru some old posts.

Post with the most clicks. & Post with the most comments ( Well there were 3 that were pretty close in clicks & comments.. I don't have a huge following, so when more than a handful of people comment or read something, it's big in my book.
    Found out we were pregnant
Please Pray   ( bloggers are the best pray warriors )
Delivered our son at 21 weeks.
    Adopt-a-Blogger for November
Whew.. October/November were busy in my blogging life..

Post with the best picture(s). Well I cheated a little bit, it's one of my Five Favorites posts for a week & there are 5 pictures.  Best picture They were all when I was visiting my little sister in Cape Cod, so one is of the beach there, and of my travel partners(nephews) it rained most every day we were there, so we spent a lot of time inside ( not fun for July )

Hardest post for me to write: It's a letter I wrote to my son, after his birth.  Dear Andrew, it brings tears to my eyes reading it, I wrote it the evening we came home after his funeral & burial. It was hard to write, but very theraputic.

Post that was my personal favorite   Breen  I watched my nephews for a couple of nights while their mom was out of town for work, right before Easter. She had asked me to do the "Easter Egg" thing with them. The boys.. always amaze me. The title of the post came from E telling me the color of one of the eggs was "BREEN" (blue & green ) the end product , didn't turn out so well, because of the stupid stickers, but the boys, didn't think anything was wrong with them. & I allowed B to eat a banana all by himself & he got to peel it..

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you back another day.

    Snowy start to 2014
