It's Almost Holy Week

So I gave up FB & Pop for Lent.. The pop was hard.. but I feel I was able to break my additction to it.  Now the not being on FB has been good for me, their has been lots-o-drama, that I conveniently don't have to deal with..  Hubs will often "tell" me about things that may be going on, via FB.. I don't think I will completely go back to being consumed on FB..Which is a good thing! I may have to purge some of my FB "friends" after Easter. I think that may be best for all !

I finally  have an appt with the NaPro Dr., unfortunately it's not til May 25 .. it feels like a long time to wait.. but hey, I'm gonna work on patience.

Been doing a lot of praying for my prayer buddy & her intentions!

Paleo/Wheat Belly

Any suggested site, or books  to get started on the Paleo diet.   I am willing to do about anything now to get rid of the "wheat bell.y"  well that's what I saw it termed on one site.

I used the "oogle place " and am getting conflicting data about what foods are acceptable, what isn't.
One place said no more than 6 eggs a week. The other it seemed like eggs were more accepted.

I already buy eggs/ most meat from an organic farmer. Grass fed/pastured are my animals.
24 weeks of the year I get fresh veggies from a Farm CSA. and local winter farmers market with an awesome selection of organic produce, and meats.. they even had duck eggs last week.

Anyways, thanks for all suggestions on the Paleo thing.

Relief

I feel much better now. The retreat for my students making confirmation, went off without a hitch today.
We had a great reatreat, lead by a wonderfully young Polish priest.  He was very inspiring, to me and to the young men.   We actually did 2 very fun activities w/ the confirmandi, that I was happy to put in my file to use again. If you ever need confirmation retreat ideas.. just ask.

When I got home I took a very short nap. We then took my grandmother out to dinner. She just returned after being gone to Florida for the last 2 months. It was her first time heading South for the winter. She is convinced that is why we had a mild winter. Anyways it was fun to take her out, and hear all her stories. She is also a wealth of knowledge & a very good listener.

Hardwook pays off, we got great news from the accountant!!.. We never get good news, but this year !!!Maybe a vacation is in our future !!

I also convinced my hubs to pick a end table & a chair out of the trash last week. He doesn't like picking, but when we got home & got to see it in daylight, he was shocked in how nice the pieces were.   Hopefully this week, I can work on refinishing the table top. The chair is in good shape, I just want to recover the fabric on the chair, so  that may take a while. Probably a later summer project. B4&After pictures when it's done...

Lenten companion book

So in my Lenten companion book, today's penance is to: Prayerfully make a list of the greatest desires of my heart.  I wanted to sit down and do it with my hubs, but unfortunately he is not feeling well and retired to bed early tonight. The allergies have been making it around the house.. He usually has his allergy attack after I'm feeling better. I think it's so I can take care of him. So after praying about my list through the day.
* A child, I used to think I would have a whole bunch of kids, but I'll be happy with 1 or whatever God wishes to bless us with.
* Continued Happy Marriage.
* I wish that our parish will find a way to satisfy the $$ demands of our archdiocese to stay open. I really do not want to see our parish community crumble.
* Desire to visit my baby sister out East, she moved 2 1/2 years ago & I have yet to visit her, there.
* I desire a vacation with my hubs ( we have "vacationed" once in our soon to be 6 years of marriage, that vacation was also our honeymoon.  ) We need the "rest & relaxation" away from everything. Having the right people in place, so we can leave the business in capable hands, is what I ask prayers for.  Good people are often hard to find.

spring

Spring !!

This is the first spring in a long time, that I am not taking wonderful allergy meds with decongestants.; you ask why? Well they interfere w/ CM, and raise my blood pressure, or at least that is the theory.  So now I am paying dearly with this awful stuffy head & sinus drainage.  M*ucinex is helping but not like my fabulous A*llegra D..  The daytime highs have been in the 60/70's .. they are going to drop later this week, I hope this means we don't have a repeat of this in a couple of weeks again when it warms up again.  I pray for good sleep tonight, because the last two nights have been interrupted with coughing.

Good thing is, I feel so yucky, that I have already decided that I'm not going to work on Monday!!

no news is ...

No real news to report on this front.

I have been really good with my Lenten sacrifices and have abstained from FB  & POP.
Have all our taxes done! Working on getting some things organized in the office this week, and then we are on to working on the "spare" bedroom.  I am going to call tomorrow to see if we can get into the NAPRO dr. on Holy Thursday. (fingers crossed)

Have been getting to know a lot of wonderul, new to me,  bloggers.  Thanks TCIE & Mrs. Henderson for putting them all together

Q-tips

In mass this morning, the visiting priest, he's this super nice Polish priest. His sermon was about prayer, and spirituality, especially during Lent. He went into how he's met many people at our parish who pray a lot, and are very spiritual.  Then he said.. but are you LISTENING. He explained. So many of you are praying & praying a lot, but are you listening to what God has to say, do you have a clear path to listen to him. Figuratively speaking we need to clean our ears with some q-tips so we can hear and listen to God.
So true. Thanks Fr. J.
