Tide

Some pictures to tide you over

Found a lovely new photographer to take pictures of Lizzie. Lizzie happened to be the first in studio pictures she took for valentines, so they played with all the backdrops and props. I had some 250 pictures to peruse.

Doesn't sit still ever

Life is going fast

How is it that my baby is 7mos . Add to it I haven't taken the picture with her #7 on her shirt.

She is moving along well . Walking along with her toys, occasionally forgets she's supposed to hold on and goes it no hands.

She decided that puréed baby food was not her thing, and has us baby lead weaning. She's still nursing and loves that. She likes trying what we are eating.  So lasagna (homemade)got thumbs up. Ravioli out of a can thumbs down .  She likes toast, bacon, rice, chicken pot pie & these veggie rice wafers (which are hard to find in stores ) a.mazon to the rescue.

She is does swimming lessons every Saturday and LOVES the water, pool, and teacher. It's a parent and child class (definitely a workout for mom)

She is very much a ham. She sticks her tongue out at us when she's being a stinker.

She is finally on the growth chart. At 7.5 mos she is 13 lbs 13 oz.  so as a reward, we don't have to go back until 11 mos.

We are taking bets that close to 9 mos we will have an independent walker on our hands.

New Year,

I was looking forward to leaving the sickies and this cold in 2016, but it has decided to sneek into 2017 too.

Lizzie wasn't happy about it either.

She has been running low grade fevers, which seem to be gone, then they pull a fast one on ya.

She also has a runny nose and spends the night breathing theough her mouth.

We've been to the doctors 3 times, but because our doctor is out of town, the others are hesitant to prescribe anything. Also one decided he was going to give me his opinion about my daughters weight ( being below the growth chart). Sorry dude our doc has this covered.

The question of the day, call the office again, or wait til Monday when our doc is back. ???

6 months

Need I say, I shouldn't be asking for anything more for Christmas.

Lizzie is a happy baby, even when she has a runny nose (currently) . She loves to humor her big cousins. They humor her by calling her pumpkin face & she laughs.

She sits up , until she wants to roll to her belly, which then will go to her back. If she sees something she wants she will find a way to get to it. She loves playing with her feet, and finds great joy when she gets one in her mouth.

She loves standing, all the time. Plays in her exersaucer, walker and toys on the floor. We had to put up a gate this weekend to make sure she stays where she is supposed to be.

She has tried eating peas, was interested at first, but showing no interest in eating after 2 days, more interested in blowing raspberries when being fed. She loves to imitate what daddy is teaching her.

Thankful

I have a lot of things to be thankful for, but also reminded of events that happened several years ago, as it was happening to someone in our community over the holiday. I had my first D&C many thanksgivings ago. Lest we forget the holidays are not always happy times for everyone.

One minute sitting up

The next ....

Lizzie is thankful for her toes...

Always happy...and loves dressing up

Firsts

So for the first time, we are having "professional" family photos. I guess you can say it's one of those things you miss out on, being infertile.

So ours got planned last minute, because we have to submit a photo to my MIL soon , for her 1st ever family newsletter for the holidays.

Yikes!!  So my conundrum is what to wear, the only photographer I could find is doing them outdoors.
It is supposed to be sunny and warmer (for this time of year) and we won't be out long. So the dress on the left is what I wanted Lizzie to wear, but don't think it will be warm enough, so I am leaning to the skirt/ sweater combo on the right. Worn with black tights. Fairly easy .

Now what do I and hubs wear, he says he's wearing jeans . I had bought him this new shirt ( on the left) .. my conundrum is what do I wear, without having to shop?? I have red pants I could wear with a black top, or the grey skirt, with ?? Or the black print skirt?  I think if I wear a print it will be too many different patterns ....

Vaca with baby

Since my husband couldn't get away, I still decided to vacation, get away. We went to visit my sister, her husband and niece who live on Cape Cod.

Lizzie is/was a great flyer. She nursed at the beginning of each flight and was asleep before the plane left the gate.

And when she wasn't sleeping she was a happy baby.

We didn't have any major plans for the time visiting, just to visit with them in their new home, let the kiddos play. Our major indulgence for the week, was eating out/take out. We ate breakfast/ lunch in , but ate out 5 out of 6 dinners. Small treats.

We had adventure day where we visited a lighthouse and drove to Providence and went to the library, it has a tall ship inside and a wonderful kids floor. On our way home we stopped in Orleans and went candle stick bowling and had BBQ for dinner.

We visited Greys Beach

Yarmouth at sunset and took several walks on the beach there.

A lot of cousin time.

And Lizzie got to go on the swings for the first time.

And we visited animals by the park.

WIW -- breastfeeding

So in the beginning of our breastfeeding journey we wore a lot of tanks

Now that I'm back to work and it's getting much colder, I need to invest in a couple things for the BF journey.

So I've heard other people try Mamas milk  box, so I thought I would give it a try.

So in my profile I asked for  a dress option, work appropriate tops and something casual for the weekend. I mentioned I work in a world HQ, with daily interactions with senior management. I also pump 3-4 times a day at work.

So here goes Dress #1

fail--didn't like the material at all, it was super awkwardly wide and got shorter if you put your hands into the pockets. Back it went.

Casual hoodie  ( wine color )

Well I kept it, needed something long sleeve. It is a thin material.  My thought is it will shrink in the wash.

Dress#2

While it is cute, I didn't dig it for our weather, while the stylist suggested wearing a blazer with it. It is a really thin material. Also lacking the business attire look. So back it went.

This is their "grey - t-shirt.

While the material is comfortable, it was soo long. The  flap/top also didn't set well on my  bust. It looked very choppy.  Back it went.

Teal V-neck.

I kept it. I will have to wear with sweater, blazer, etc. It is not a material I would choose to wear to work, but for now it will have to do. I'll call it nice t-shirt material.

I did get a top I already had. I purchased from them-- in their outlet - sold as they only had a few left. I was shocked to get in the box. Well it went back too.

I did get one top ( picture didn't make it ) It was white and black -- The only print. It was wide, and had zippers to nurse. It was comfortable, but the sleeves were weird, and felt like I was getting choked.  So back it went.

I will give it one more try, I made comments & suggestions to them. I hope they read/listen to them. I was disappointed that most items do not have washing instructions in them ( or tell you what material they are )

Here's a dazzler from me & the bebe. I told her make your funny face.
